The Cranley London

Has anyone stayed at the Cranley in London. I would like a nice small hotel in the Knightsbridge, Kensinton area. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What price range are you looking for?

I'm looking to spend about $300 to $400 per night. I'll be there for two days, then off the Cotswolds...

I just topped a thread re: Cranley Hotel for you

I stayed at the Basil Street Hotel (www.thebasil.co.uk) last summer, and highly recommend it. It has an old-fashioned country house feel to it, and it's in a great location: just around the corner from the Knightsbridge tube station and a block away from Harrod's. I'm not sure if you'd consider it small (it has 80 rooms), but the personal service is so good that it felt like a small hotel. By the way, in suggesting the Basil Street, I don't mean to knock the Cranley (where I've never stayed, but which sounds lovely from everything I've read about it on this forum), but just wanted to give you another alternative to consider.

Stayed at The Cranley in November.Very convenient for Gloucester Road Tube Station, restaurants, museums and shopping. My wife and I both thought the accomodation was excellent and staff most helpful. We will stay there again. We paid about £120 per night for the room and thought it good value.
