The chunnel from London to Paris
 

Has anyone taken the train from London to Paris recently? I'm interested in doing a one day turnaround in late February. Would you suggest booking first class or would coach do?

(Also, if I recall correctly, the London-Paris route had been disrupted, you might want to check on that for the latest info).

Or did you mean that you are afraid you might chunder all the way from London to Paris? That's some serious motion sickness.<BR>

If you travel coach, make sure you as for the car with eight facing seats and a table in between. It's great. Like traveling in a dining car. We had a ball on the train. So fast and easy.

Wonderful trip. I took my son and went first class.

The adverts in the London tube 2 weeks ago were saying that a round trip to Paris by train was 59L. Not sure how that squares with the 70L mentioned earlier.

Maurice - it's more like air fares than regular train, the price depends markedly on the exact ticket you buy, and how far in advance you book. Also, there are only a limited number of Apex fares per train, so even booking ahead doesn't guarantee that they will sell you a cheap ticket. The recent promotion is for winter travel, and (I think) requires a minimum stay.
