The cheapest Paris vacation ever

The cheapest Paris vacation ever

"No joke! Paris is now rivaling London as the most affordable European getaway destination, with week-long holidays dropping to just $399 including airfare and hotel"

http://www.msnbc.com/news/856122.asp?cp1=1
Off season, best time to go!! No crowds but a little rainy and cool. ENJOY!!

Jamie Jan 11th, 2003 10:21 AM

Can someone refresh my memory as to *when* London was the most affordable European getaway destination? It seems to have slipped my mind.

Rich Jan 11th, 2003 10:31 AM

I beleive it was 1939-42 . .

Rich

I'm with Rich on this one. That headline quoted doesn't make any sense at all. I was always under the impression that London was the MOST expensive city in Europe. Or is this supposed to refer to air tickets only?? Even then it doesn't make much sense. I fly American, and their fares from Miami to Paris, for example, have nearly always been less than their fares from Miami to London, except for specials.

Sorry, I meant, I'm with Jamie, not Rich.

I would guess "London as the most affordable European getaway destination" refers to airfare, but may also refer to air/hotel package deals. From my city in the U.S. airfares to London are almost always the least expensive.

In any case, I'd fly Air India to Paris just to get some complimentary curry-roasted peanuts!
