The Bird Market

I have read that the Flower Market near Notre Dame becomes an outlet for exotic birds and related items. [on Sundays]
Has anyone visited this? If so, did you purchase a bird and take it home with you? If so, if so, how was it bringing an animal home from a foreign country?
Thanks for the info.

The restrictions are tough. I once tried to buy a pup to take home that was at that market, a great place to visit, but the paper physical dog needs were overwhelming. Maybe it's changed. Good luck.

You can go to the US Customs website, but I think imported birds might have to be quarantined in the US

It would be extremely difficult to bring one to the US. A much better idea would be to buy a bird off a rotisserie, preferably a chicken, and enjoy it while you are in Paris. There's a whole current thread about where and how to do that.

I don't think bird lovers find the previous post funny. Roast him.

OTOH I don't think bird lovers would find the possible multiples breaches of CITES funny either:(
