The best things to do in Seville, Spain
 

I'm looking for the best things to do in Seville, Spain. We'll only be there for 1.5 days.

We just came from Spain. You have to see the Cathedral, the Alcazar, a buggy ride around town, plaza de spain, the bull ring, pilatos house are some suggestions. with that much time you'll have to be busy to do it all. It was wonderful. If you need more info let me know.

The Cathedral is free on Sundays after 2pm and is located right next to the Alcazar. The Alcazar (where you can get lost in the hedge mazes) is free to holders of the ISIC card. Bull fights are 8-10 Euro (in the sun) or 26 Euro (in the shade) and take place on Sundays at 7:30pm.<BR> You may recognize the Plaza De Espana from scenes in the new Star Wars movie.<BR>

You do not say when you are heading there, but Seville is HOT. So, I could not accomplish as much in a day that I might in another city. <BR><BR>I would stick to seeing the Cathedral, the Alcazar and then walking around the Jewish District. <BR><BR>I loved the Pilatos house, but I wouldn't necessarily say it is a must see. <BR><BR>Plaza de Espana and the bull ring would some of the sites I would catch if you had extra time.

go to the universidad former tabbaco factory now part of the univesity of Seville or take a rest on a park bench in Calla Mateos Gago being entertained by music students playing guitar on the seville orange tree lined side walks , playing sergovia and flamenco music on the twelve string guitars.

I'd say all the recommendations for the day are excellent...top the evening with a flamenco show at Los Gallos...elstupendo!

Shaine,<BR><BR>Another sight that is not on the top 5 list for Sevilla (Los Reales Alcazares, La Cathedral and The Plaza de Espana IMHO followed closely behind by the Casa de Pilatos and the bullring) is a tour of the basilica de La Macarena. It is a little farther afield but definitely within walking distance of the Juderia. The displays of the Semana Santa processional pieces and the Tesoro (treasury) of the Virgin re absolutely unbelievable. If you are an American Catholic you will get a full dose of what the differences are in a country like Spain. We were travelling with some non-Catholic friends and they were overwhelmed with the chasm between Spanish catholic culture and American Lutheranism.<BR><BR>Buen Viaje!<BR><BR>Maria
