The best map of London Ever Ever!

here it is - handdrawn:

Awesome, hand-drawn, zoomable map of London. Instead of buildings, this guy has put in interesting facts about every neighbourhood and the level of detail is amazing.

Love this. May try to order a print for my husband's birthday.

It's certainly been featured in the Beauty of Maps series on BBC4:

Wow....I like this map a lot...makes me want to go back to London just so I can use it. (actually there are many other reasons to go back to London too), Great personal comments on the details.

This is one exhibit in the British Library map exhibition, on which the BBC programme is based.

The exhibition (http://www.bl.uk/magnificentmaps/index.html) started on April 30 and runs to September 30. It's better displayed online than any blockbuster exhibition I've ever come across. It's also got some terrific ancillary events, all bookable etc at the website.

Looks impressive: sadly, other commitments make it impossible for me to visit it for some time.

CW--Just heard back from the dealer--10,000 pounds for a signed copy--I expect worth every pence but out of my price range. He's also deconstructed each of the 32 boroughs--those are available for 450 quid each.

The dealer (TAG Fine Arts) said they're at the print fair at the Royal Academy through 3 May, stand 62. They also mentioned the British Library exhibition--I might make it before it closes. Would love to see it. I would settle for a poster.

Thanks.
