Yes you have more insight into Italians' views to Bellagio than I - obviously.

Bellagio is lovely, but not a place to which I would return just for the sake of seeing Bellagio. Lake Como & the many lovely villages/towns that surround it are more attractive to me, but to each his own. Maybe, despite B's legitimate history, etc., it just felt to me too much like Carmel (which I used to love, but now find too precious)!
