thanks again fodorites

some of you ahve really given me some key bits of info and otehrs have still allr emained helpful as ever.

I leave in 12 hoiurs time. will check fodor one more time for addiction purpsoes and then report on my anticipated tragedies when i eventually return.

At this stage i ahve aboandoned the idea of completely walking up to buy tickets for travel at the time i want to travel opting instead, for the most part, to make bookings a few days or more ahead but once in europe and not from here.

will let the likes of rex and ira (and many others who might be laughing at me) know how it all worked out.

Thanks elaine and larry, here's to hoping we catch up in prague somewhere between the 9th and the 15th. I'll be the one with a slightly lost but bemused look on his face!

Good luck in Prague. I will be there from July 10-18. If you see someone wearing Jackie O sunglasses yelling at his mother, "Put that Moser crystal chandelier down. You are NOT taking that back to the US in your suitcase," that will be me. Hopefully, there will be gin in Prague.

Cheers,
John G.

It would be worth making a special trip to Prague just to see that! ;)

John! Have a wonderful time!! I wish I could see that too!
I want those sunglasses ((H))

I'd like to see her actually try to get the chandelier into the suitcase.
"That's not my suitcase, that's a shipping crate!"
enjoy

If I turn my back on Linda (my mother) for one second, she will have half the contents of the stores on Parizska Street in shopping bags (which she will force me to carry). I will have to be very vigilant. No gin before the shops close.

Once, my mother walked into Farmaceutica Santa Maria Novella in Florence, and walked out with $1,200.00 worth of pot-pourri. She had to buy TWO new suitcases to bring it all back home. The ticket agents for Alitalia said to my mother upon leaving Florence, "Madame, you have the most beautiful smelling luggage in the history of Peretola Airport."

To everyone headed to Prague - have a tremendous time. I'm still chuckling over the thought of two giant-sized potpouri bags circling on the airport luggage cart! Thanks John G and Cheers!
