Thank you for your advice
I just wanted to say thank you for your advice. When I posted my first post here about cheap places to eat in Paris, StCirq and Christina told me that I should have booked my accommodation in Paris not in a suburb of Paris, Aubervilliers. At the time I insisted that it was fine as I was not there to stay but to sleep. And because someone mentioned that food outside Paris is less expensive, I thought yeah that should work for me but that bothered me, and slowly it did.
I have been ok with everything until this week when I thought lets go back again to the reasons why I wanted to visit Paris: And my reasons for going there was to see the Eiffel Tower: to be there when it’s snowing especially at night. Now the panic mode kicked in as I thought about my accommodation in Aubervilliers on the 22 – 27 December 2012. Like heck what am I doing there really? Yes there’s a bus that can take me to the Eiffel Tower but seriously it won’t be the same. I want to be so NEAR the Eiffel Tower and just see it like every day. I even have a picture of it when it’s snowing. And that’s my dream. So since I took the time to make it happen why am I cheating myself on my first trip to Paris.
So I started checking different places, airbnb being my first place. I couldn’t get anything. And I kept avoiding hotels because I thought they were super expensive at this time. I then went to cheapohotels and ran a search and yeah there was a hotel CAMPANILE PARIS 15 - Tour Eiffel – which is 10-15 minutes away from the Tower had a room for me and it was reasonable 59 Euros (winter special). I called to be told that there was nothing but I should book through the web. And I called again and the guy said I’m in the system. I’m so happy for myself and really grateful to all of you for your advice. And thank God I found accommodation.
