Terravision from Ciampino airport to Termini station...

<sorry...forgot to choose Italy as the topic so I'm reposting>
I am finding many CHEAP flights from Zurich to Rome CIA, and from Rome CIA to Paris BVA (two journeys I am now planning on taking in 4 weeks), but have never heard of Ciamino airport...is it worth going through this airport to save some money on a flight?
I found that it is only 8 euros to take the Terravision from Rome Ciampino airport to Termini Station. Does anyone know how long of a ride this is?
thanks

The coach ride on Terravision is no big deal at all. The only thing that could happen is that you get caught in heavy traffic, and the ride takes longer than expected.

You are travelling on Ryanair aren't you. If so (and even if not) go to Ryanair's website, click on destinations & select your airport. Somewhere they'll be a link to the bus service.

BTW Beauvais is half way to England. If you want to avoid that consider Easyjet to Orly or Condor & Air Berlin to CDG.

thanks!
I'm not sure about Beuvais...some people say it's no big deal and others say it's a huge pain. Maybe that airport isn't worth the cost savings.
But is Rome CIA the same situation? Is it really far from the city center? What do you think...30 mintues, 1 hour?? Just trying to get an idea of how long I will have to travel from CIA airport to Termini Station.

Amy - The Ciampino-Rome shuttle normally takes about 40 mins.

No problem unless it's the rush hour ...

An alternative is to catch the service bus to Ciampino station (5-10 mins), then catch a train from there into Roma Termini (15 mins).

This can be just as quick - if the train departure time fits your timing.

Hope this helps ...

In fact, Ciampino is a bit nearer from Rome than Fiumicino. The traffic can be worse, though.

Depending where in Rome you are staying, it can be quicker to take the local bus, do not get out at the Railway station, but stay on until the Metro station. This option is quite a bit cheaper than the terravision bus.

A minor attraction of using the railway, is that it passes some ruined acqueducts on the way into Termini - A nice introduction to "Ancient Rome"

I have never used the Terravision bus so cannot comment on this.
