Termini - left luggage

I searched and only found two thread with the words 'luggage', 'locker' and 'Termini' in them...neither addressed this.

Just trying to figure out if there are lockers or a checked luggage area at Termini where we could stash our bags while we kill a few hours in Rome waiting for our train to Venice. Anyone have recent experience?

Rick Steves 2006 says there are no such services since 2001 but I somewhat doubt that.

For sure there are no lockers. Left luggage is on the lower level below track 24.

Thanks Ellen.

How secure / safe is left luggage? Is it attended by reputable folks?

I haven't used the Termini one lately, but the one in Florence (and all other stations I've used) is very secure. You even have to show ID to leave your bag.

Hi MD - I agree with Ellen - I've never had any worries about security.

The only problem with Roma Termini is that there can be a long queue :(
