We are arriving in United at terminal 1...meeting someone arriving on American I believe terminal two...can we get to her without having to go through security...can we meet her at her gate? pre- sept 11 in america you were able to do this....we are using a private shuttle (capitol shuttle) and they arrange to pick us up at her gate....thanks...

Hi H,

After you exit T1, you don't go through security unless you are flying out of CDG.

You can meet her at her gate outside the secure area in T2.

You can't meet anyone at the gate.

As Ira pointed out, you can meet them at the customs exit.

Speaking of pre (or post) Sept 11 America, you could never meet anybody at the gate of an international flight. That was only possible for domestic flights.

Flights can be delayed and many problems trying to meet at the airport.

Two of us are arriving at CDG one Terminal 1 (US Air) and the other Terminal 2(Delta). IF our flights were on time, we would be about 1/2 hours apart. Not even considering meeting. We each have drivers meeting us and they will take us to Les Cocotttes where we will meet for breakfast, call Carolyn re our ParisPerfect apt. and go from there!!

Don't look for problems!!

There are 6 terminals at CDG2. AA comes into Terminal 2A. You'll take the CDGVAL from T1 to T2, and then walk to 2A.

Like ira and kerouac has said, wait outside the customs exit. There's only one level at 2A and it's not that large.

It would be safer to just go on to the hotel and wait. How will either of you communicate if one plane is delayed?

Otherwise, if you are using a reserved shuttle, they pick up at certain/specific points at each terminal. They will be the ones to tell you where the pickup points are.

you left out an important detail - how much time between the two flights.

In most cases I'd just meet up at our hotel, but if the planes are scheduled in around the same time I'd maybe pick a place to meet like the lobby of an airport hotel. But if the flights are an hour or more apart I would absolutely, 100% meet at our hotel in Paris.
