Terminal 5 London Heathrow

Will the Picadilly Line stop at Terminal 5? Or do we get off at terminal 4 and walk to terminal 5 for the British Airways flight at Heathrow to USA? Also, upon arrival at terminal 5 from the USA do we walk to terminal 4 to get the tube to downtown London?

Terminal 5 has it's own tube station.

Some Piccadilly Line trains go to T5, the annoucements will say they if they do. You shouldn't have to wait much more than 10 minutes in the worst case.

Coming from LHR you just have to follow the signs to Underground.

There should be no need for you to go to T4 or any other terminal at LHR

It sounds as if you're using an outdated tube map. Wherever you've got it from, download a current one from www.tfl.gov.uk, or pick up a new one on arrival.

Don't even think of walking. It's several miles between T4 and T5, some of it along London's peripheral M25 motorway, generally held to be Europe's busiest road. Pedestrian survival time is normally calculated in minutes.

Like others said, not every Piccadilly line train stops at T5. Make sure you check the LED board and the announcement before you get on the train.

When you arrive at Terminal 5, you can catch the tube from there straight into central London.

Coming back, to the airport, the schedules have changed slightly since Terminal 5 was built. Now some trains go to Terminals 1,2,3 and 4 and other trains go to Terminals 1,2,3 and 5. You can check the signs before you hop on the train.

If you happen to forget and are on a train that is not going to Terminal 5, you will still be OK. There are usually announcements on the train saying that anyone wanting Terminal 5 should get off at one of the stations close to Heathrow, such as Hounslow or Hatton Cross.

You hop off the train and wait - exactly where you are, no need to change platforms - and wait for the next train. Trains are going continuously, you shouldn't normally wait more than a few minutes.

Does Continental Airlines from US also arrive at Terminal 5?

hetismij Nov 21st, 2008 07:05 AM

SUMMAGOLD Nov 21st, 2008 10:03 AM

So at Knightsbridge station, I should look for the train that shows Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3,and 5. True?

ParisEscapes Nov 21st, 2008 12:29 PM

United also flies out of Terminal 5.

Going where? Because it definitely did NOT leave out of Terminal 5 when we flew to San Francisco in September.
