Terminal 1 Heathrow for connection to Prague

I have not been to Heathrow airport in over 20 years. I'm flying from US to Heathrow this Sunday with a short 1 hour 15 minute layover before my connection to Prague. Is there anything I need to know about maneuvering about Terminal 1 to get my connection flight. Do you usually have to take an outside shuttle to the next gate or is it walkable? Just want to gauge how time-consuming it'll be.

Are you both landing and taking off from Terminal 1? Since UK isn;t Schengen you should stay airside for this connection. However - I thought than to be legal any connection at Heathrow had to be 2 hours (but I'm not an expert).

Is this a single ticket - so the airline is responsible if you miss the ongoing flight? (You don;t want to be stuck buying a new ticket at the walk-up rate.)

It's a single ticket on British Airways.. I know the layover is tight, but most advised that it should be okay, especially if the plane happens to land in Heathrow a little earlier than planned based on the west to east direction. Not sure where I am taking off from in Heathrow. By the way, the layover is 1 hr 35 min., not 1 hr 15 min.

I avoid transitting through Heathrow at all costs - since I have found it always takes forever - between the endless hallways, the buses from the landing terminal to one of the the other 4, and then taking forever to get through security again (there always seem to be some clueless travelers from who knows where that just will not cooperate). I have made some more than 2 hours transits by the skin of my teeth.

Are you sure you're on BA or, alternatively, are you sure it's T1?

BA doesn't fly from T1. Perhaps you are arriving at T1 in Prague but departing from T3 at Heathrow?

And what terminal is your flight from the US to LHR arriving at? Most BA flights from the US use T5, but a few use T3 I believe.

I transit through Heathrow frequently and have done so for many years. Years ago there were times when it could be quite an ordeal, but matters have improved greatly and now it is usually quite easy, efficient and painless, particularly when using BA and T5. Heathrow is now my first-choice gateway to Europe when I can't fly non-stop, which is most of the time.

Unless your flight is late arriving into London, you should have no problems making your connection. Just make sure you are ticketed all the way through and then go straight to Flight Connections when you arrive. And make sure to check your tickets in advance so you know your terminals.

Thank you all. It turned out being terminal 5 in London and went very smoothly. Sorry, I initially thought I was going to terminal 1.

For others in a similar situation (ie one ticket, luggage checked through), just follow the signs for "flight connections" and act stupid. The people there will know where to send you.
