Tennis courts in Rome
Anyone have any personal experience with/knowledge about public tennis courts or tennis clubs that allow non-members to play in Rome? Thanks.

Here is a list of sports centers that have tennis clubs:
http://www.campisportivi.com/roma/tennis/ It doesn't indicate which are members-only and which are available to the public. Also, some are very far from the center. Maybe you could look them up on Google Maps and make a short list of those you could easily reach, and then contact them individually. I also found two private clubs that are fairly central. Both mention that they have reciprocal agreements, but I can't see them without an ID and password. You could perhaps contact them, after having checked the locations, mentioning any tennis clubs or societies you belong to. This one is also a rowing club: http://www.canottieriroma.it/attivita/tennis/ It's near the Via Flaminia, and you could reach it via a tram from Piazza del Popolo. This is further north, on the Via Salaria, reachable by bus: http://www.tcparioli.it/ You can paste these URLs into translate.google.com to get a fairly decent translation. |
Thanks! The list of sports centers in particular is very helpful.
