Temple Bar Hotel, Days Inn Talbot st

Ok...so, we've put this off long enough, and now its time book the hotel already!
About us: young couple, looking for good, lively location.
We're looking at Temple Bar Hotel and Days Inn Talbot St.
One is North of the river, the other is south, but both claim to be near temple bar which i'm told is where all the happening are.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Even if you stay north of the river it may still be close to temple bar. We stayed at the comfort inn smithfield- north of the river and it was less than a 10 min. walk to Temple Bar. We went out there everynight.

Do not stay on Talbot street its a bit crummy especially at night stay in the Temple bar hotel it will be more fun for you and safer.

P.S. I live here in Dublin and I am not making a randon Judgement. The comfort inn in Smithfield is a bit further out but a good place and location with the Luas (tram) just 2 minutes away

I've stayed at that Days Inn in 2004. I thought it was just fine at night. It's not posh or anything, but the hotel served us just fine. Room was kind of small if I remember.

I stayed at the Temple Bar and found the room very very small and just didn't like the place. Dublin is very walkable - stay somewhere else and walk to Temple Bar at night.
