Telford, England - 1st time

I'm finding it hard to get much information on what do, where to eat, and what to avoid on a trip to England. We will be in the Telford area for about a week. It's our first in this area. We will be there in late May.

Telford is close to Ironbridge Gorge which is well worth visiting (I'm sure it has a website). It is an industrial museum based around the first iron bridge, dating back to the industrial revolution. Difficult to describe but you could easily spend a day there.

What sort of things are you interested in - there must be lots of information on England in general?

Now that my computer is working again I'll post a bit more! Telford is a "new town" and not a tourist destination so you probably didn't find much about it on the internet. But it is in Shropshire, one of the most beautiful English counties, and on the Welsh borders. If you look up Shropshire, you will probably find a lot more, eg http://www.virtual-shropshire.co.uk/

Shrewsbury is a nice town to visit, and Ludlow has some of the best restaurants in England.

You will probably find a car useful for exploring the area.
