A wonderful report! I'll be meeting a friend in Rome to visit the Caravaggio exhibit. Since she purchased the tickets, we are entering at 11:00, no choice there. Your advice to go at 9:30 will be passed along to local friends of hers who have the 10:00 entry, so someone will benefit from your tip; I am grateful for the one about Trenitalia's seating as I will be going on alone to Florence afterwards.

Sounds like everyone is going to Rome!

(And why not -- it's the most delightful city I know)

tedgale and lowcountry: can you share which restaurant features Mossimo?

Thanks for the report, tedgale. I have looked at that apartment in Rome; gorgeous.

It appears your privacy settings prevent me from sending you a message on Facebook! However, you can always send me a message (Ted Gale -- I am one of 2 or 3 in the FB world)

Anyway: I have posted a lot more info since you wrote last.

If you combine THIS thread with my OTHER thread (Tedgale Italy Trip Report, Part II: Florence, Lucca and environs) you actually have almost ALL the info from my 30 pages.

The only stuff that is missing is some unimportant personal and anecdotal stuff.
