Thank you. La Couvertoirade is a name on a map to me, never yet visited.

I like the idea of visiting some of the emptier parts of France -- but we usually go in the off-season and those remoter parts can be bleak if the weather does not cooperate....

What season were you there?

I think it must have been in early June, and it was good weather while we were there. We stayed with our friends and then drove up thru the Cevennes and the Dordogne and on to Paris. A lovely trip and very few tourists. nice part of France to be sure.

Since that trip, we have stayed again in Uzes, in an impossibly hip and lavish house owned by a couple from Toronto. Got it on vrbo. If anyone is interested, I can retrieve the listing number.

Another point RE the Drome: Dear friends Bob and Celia have sold La Roche Colombe and have downsized. They recently completed the reno of a smaller but equally fab house near Puy St Martin in the Drome - which has a spanking new rental apartment. The soul of kindness and hospitality, they can be reached at [email protected]
