tea rooms in Dublin, Cork, and Killarney?
 

Are tea rooms uncommon in Ireland? I've been searching for them online in Dublin, Cork, and Killarney, and come up empty, for the most part, though I did find Bewley's in Dublin. Any others to recommend?

Tea rooms are not really our kind of thing. There are plenty of coffee shops where tea is served, but it's generally not particularly good tea. You can often get good tea in the lobby areas of the better hotels.

Thanks! I wondered. Good to know that good tea can be found in the lobby of better hotels. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I'm always looking for someplace with a good cup of tea, and maybe some nice pastries to go with it :-)

Tearooms are more common in England. If you want a posh high tea with little sandwiches, cakes, etc. high end hotels will do that in the afternoon. In Killarney try the small coffee shop/cafe Jam for good coffee, tea and pastries.

Thanks! Jam sounds just like what I was looking for in Killarney, and I see from their website that there's also one in Kenmare, where we plan to spend at least a few hours, so that should be a good stop for tea :-)
