taxis in italy

there are 5 of us with one small suitcase each...would we all fit in a taxi?

onourway,
Probably not. Most taxi hold 5 (includes the driver). Bucket seats in the front is the reason.

The only large taxis I have seen in europe were in London. Most other places they seem to be regular sedans - which are definitely not for 6 people.

thanks for the input...looks like 2 taxis for us!

You get a lot of Fiat Multipla taxis in Rome and Milan. They comfortably fit 6. If you radio taxi you can ask for a big one.

If you are arriving or departing and also have luggage I would check into one of the shuttle services. They would certainly save you money over taking two taxis, and you will be able to ride together. We used Rome Limousine (http://www.romelimousine.com/) but there are plenty of others to choose from as well.
