taxis in Florence

I hope this may not seem like a silly question:
We are arriving in Florence after midnight and I would like to know if there will indeed be a taxi at the train station for us to take to our apartment that we rented. Thank you!

Not a silly question at all postcards. Unfortantly I do not know. Is is possible for you to ask the question of the person or agency you are renting the apartment from?

I will email some friends in Florence..hopefully they are back from their vacation over New Years. They will probably know. If I get an answer from them I will post back here and let you know. When are you leaving for Florence btw?

Hello postcards, I just got a return email from my friends in Florence.

They said to tell you when you arrive at the train station in Florence that there should be a taxi there as the taxi's in Florence run 24/7. They said if there is not a taxi (they said to check at the Station Ticket Office as to where the taxi's should be parked) to either use your cell phone or a payphone and call to have a taxi come to the Santa Maria Novella Station (Stazione in Italian) taxi stop. There is a tourist desk at the train station postcards but doubt if they will be opened at midnight.

There are two telephone numbers.

055-4242 and also 055-4390.

I sure hope this helps you. Have a wonderful time in Florence.
