Taxis in Bellagio?

I am currently planning a trip to Italy, including Bellagio, for myself and some friends. One of the people in our group has trouble walking long distances.

Are there taxis in Bellagio if she needs help getting from place to place?

Bellagio is not a friendly place for people with mobility issues. There are only a couple of roads for cars in the center of Bellagio; the rest of the main tourist area is stairways that rise up from the lake. Here is a link to a map of Bellagio. Only the roads in yellow can be used by cars.

If these links work, you'll see photos of typical Bellagio stairway streets (the ones in white on the map).

But, to answer the general question about taxis, there are a few in town. You can probably find one at the ferry dock or ask someone at the ferry ticket office, a restaurant or hotel to call one for you.

None of the distances in Bellagio wll be particularly long--just steep! If you get a hotel on the waterfront, it's relatively easy t avoid climbing stairs.

Thanks, Jean, for posting the pictures of Bellagio streets. I'll be there in two weeks.

The good thing is that it looks from the photos that the steps are wide. Maybe not as bad as climbing flights of stairs?

I went to Bellagio with a friend with mobility issues--stamina, balance, cane-user--and she did fine. We jsut went up the stairs slow and steady.

The stairways are wide, the height of each stair is short and the distance between stairs is greater than a typical staircase. Some stairways are steeper than others.

If it rains, watch your step!
