Taxis at Gare Montparnasse
Is there a taxi stand at Gare Montparnasse?
|
Hi M.
Is the Pope Catholic? ((I)) |
My map says there are about 6 stands circling the Gare and the Tour. Locations:
Place de Catalogne/ rue du Commandante R. Mouchotte (Hotel le Meridien) Al. due Cap. Dronne blvd de Vaugirard rue d'Arrive No doubt there are signs in the arrival hall directing passengers to the doorway out to the taxis... |
Arriving by train? Look for the signs marked "taxi".
|
The taxi stand is actually inside the train station so you would not want to head outside. Just follow the sign as kerouac suggests.

Ira:
There's "Catholic" and then there's Roman Catholic. Do be aware there are many of us who are Catholic but not of the Bishop of Rome persuasion. |
Yes, but the Pope is Catholic even if he isn't catholic.
|
Hi Dukey
>Ira: There's "Catholic" and then there's Roman Catholic. Do be aware there are many of us who are Catholic but not of the Bishop of Rome persuasion.< No offense intended. Does you mean that the Pope is not Catholic? ((I)) |
I think that this board got a little out of the original intent. I am not a Roman Catholic or Catholic, I am an Episcopalian. I am the Sr. Warden at my church (vice president of the corporation) I know from my involvment etc. that only 4% of French people attend church, so I guess that it doesn't matter if the Pope is Catholic or not. Not trying to be argumentative, just wondering why there is so little church attendance.

There are taxi stands at every train station.
|
I love you Ira, you are just so in the groove!
I mean where is mindyhanzik from? Planet Zog? |
Catholic with a capital C includes the Anglican Church (Episcopalians in the US), the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, Church of Sweden, the Old Catholic Church (in the Netherlands and elsewhere).
A small c catholic in addition to the religious meaning (pertaining to the whole Christion body) also means a universality. |
