Taxi to CDG
I am leaving Paris on Wednesday for Venice. I was thinking of managing luggage on RER but recently had a fall and have decided a taxi is a better solution for me. Does anyone know the approximate cost of a taxi from Plaza St. Michele to CDG? And also how long it would take to get from center of Paris? Thanks.u

I know that is cost about 80 Euro to get from CDG to La Défense (2km less than Plaza St. Michele to CDG). That was in the morning and rush hour traffic came into play.

About 55 eURO if you mean Place San Michel, allow an hour though it shouln't take that long!

About what Avalon said, maybe a little less. Remember to be completely ready when you have ordered your taxi--luggage at the curb. Your taxi meter starts from when it leaves the taxi stand so when it arrives, the meter is running and has X amount on it. This is not a ripoff. Your hotel desk can arrange the taxi for you at the proper time.

Hi Anneinmanhattan,
Wise decision not to attempt the RER with luggage after your fall. Last summer I took the PARIS SHUTTLE to central Paris, not far from San Michelle, for €30. There are usually one or two other parties, but at least you know what you are paying so traffic jams are not so frustrating. When I go to London at the end of June, I will be taking HOTEL BY BUS from Heathrow to central London. I have found these shared transfers quite professional and reliable. Good luck :) |
Thank you. How do I get the Paris shuttle? Any information would be appreciated.

It's al about traffic (time of day can make a big difference). I've had fares as low as 60 and as high as 95

last 2 times we were in Paris ,we took a taxi to cdg. First time was near les Invalides. we stood at a taxi stand. got a taxi very quickly, about 50 euros. no stress.
2nd time was from a hotel near arc de triumphe. the hotel called the taxi, again about 50 euros. I think the trips took about 45 min. If you can afford it, a good way to go, if not try a shuttle. they stop at various hotels,so you might have to leave earlier. the hotels can usually arrange it. |
It's about 50-55 euros, depending on time of day and say of the week, but I don't have a clue what you mean when you first ask from St-Michel area and then ask from "the center of Paris," as they are pretty much one and the same.
And what shuttle are you talking about? The Air France Shuttle? The Roissy Bus? Private shuttle? |
Hi again Anneinmanhattan,
Just checked PARIS SHUTTLE website: http://www.parishuttle.com/rates_tra...port_paris.php Transfers to CDG for a single traveler are €31 ($42 US). They will ask departure info and arrange to pick you up in plenty of time to make your flight. When I left Paris with them last year, they picked up one other party at a nearby hotel and proceeded to the airport. Please let us know how you fared…. |
To Latedaytraveler:
Thanks so much for the recommendation. It worked out great. Shuttle picked me up on time, left me in front of my terminal, and I had a nice conversation with the Australian couple with whom I shared the shuttle. Well worth the cost, and I would recommend highly to anyone else traveling to CDG. My friends paid $50 using a private service--if they had used the shuttle it would have been 40 euros for the two. |
Which is more than $50.
|
Yes, but I have a habit of using dollar sign. It was 50 euros which s ten euros more than forty.
|
There is a world of difference between a shared ride shuttle and private transportation such as a taxi. While I am certainly glad this worked for you, if you do an internet search about what has been written in reference to Paris Shuttle, you may find that many, many people were not as satisfied as you were.
|
And if there are two people, a taxi is SO much more "satisfying" over all--at least to us.
I just have a problem with shuttles. |
What can I say. I was quite happy with the service and grateful to the person who recommended it. Enough said, I think!
|
Hi Annieinmanhattan,
So glad that PARIS SHUTTLE worked out well for you too. Great for the solo traveler. So how was Venice? Continued happy travels. :) |
Veinice is great. I'm here until June 30, with a brief (3-5 days) trip to Assisi to visit old friends. Thanks for asking.
