Obviously with luggage, the taxi is your best transport. And everyone except Kerouac has been helpful. ;o(
The distance isn't great and the fare will not be much in the grand scheme of things.
You mention "large luggage"--this could be one place in your whole trip you could help yourself greatly by cutting down on your luggage.
Also, there is no reason to think you will be ripped off but the advice to deal with banks and not exchange offices is good in ANY country.

>>Apart from the above, if the ATM asks if you would like Dynamic exchange rates, press "No". <<

Dynamic currency conversion means the machine will ask if you want to be charged in dollars. You do NOT want to be charged in $.

Bank ATMs in France only distribute bills. They are not in the currency conversion business. That will happen down stream of the original ATM request, usually with a company such as Maestro, Pulse, or Sirrus.

Yes, but now some ATMs do offer the calculation to be in € or in the home currency/$. That is what Rubicund and I were talking about. It is never a good idea to choose the "your home currency" option.

Where in France did you see a bank ATM offering the choice of how the conversion to a difference currency should be made and what was the name of this bank? I have seen DCC at credit card terminals but never at a bank ATM.

I've seen DCC on ATMs at CDG and LHR -- can't remember where else . . .

Some merchants at CDG do offer DCC at their credit card terminals but neither la Poste nor HSBC (the only two banks with ATM terminals at CDG) have this option on their ATM machines.
