Landing at Linate mid-afternoon on June 6. Planning on buying train tickets to Bologna after we get there. Centrale and Rogoredo staions are the same distance from Linate and both have trains leaving once an hour for Bologna.

Are there bus options from Linate to Centrale and/or Rogoredo stations? If so, what bus number/s?

If taxi is the best or only option for both stations does anyone know the approximate fare from Linate?

I've only flown into Linate once. The ATM...I said THE ATM, mind you...wasn't working but I had some Euros. I simply took a cab to Centrale. I am a MAJOR believer in public transport but sometimes you simply want to live a little and not hassle things.

i am sorry I do not remember but to use one of the favorite phrases around here (I am certain) "it was worth it."

There is a dedicated bus from Linate to Milano Centrale. I think it leaves about every 15 minutes. I researched it but have not taken it. Will check and report back

Bus leaves every 30 minutes until close to midnight.

Takes 25 minutes. Costs 5 E. Makes one intermediate stop.

sounds convenient enough that I would prefer over taxi.

Urban bus #73 goes to San Babila, after that you can take the underground to Centrale (one change, either at Duomo or Loreto). Not confortable with big luggage.

There is a shuttle between Linate and Centrale every 30 minutes:

Public transportation between Linate and Rogoredo is quite complex. Maybe the easiest way could be an intermediate stop of the shuttle at Dateo and then a Passante train to Rogoredo, but not really more convenient than going to Centrale.

As Rogoredo is much closer to Linate than Centrale, a taxi should be much quicker and cheaper.

We arrive in Milan via London so we were planning on getting Euros at Linate to pay for the public transport for the day.

Any idea what the best back-up plan is? Get enough Euros to cover the first bus/taxi before leaving U.S. or get Euros at Heathrow?

I recently flew into Linate and there was more than one ATM as I recall. One is at the Postal Office and the other is a private bank. There is also a currency exchange office. I believe the bus ticket office and many taxis take credit cards.

Here is the link to the Linate airport that shows there are 3 banks in the airport with bancomats (ATMs) plus a post office, which also has a bancomat.

We took the dedicated bus from Linate to Centrale, it was very easy. Actually we were going to take a taxi, but when we exited the terminal the bus was sitting right across the rodeway, doors open. It was not a long ride to the train station, so it worked out well for us. We always have euros with us, so that we do not have to find an ATM right away.
