Taxi or AF bus to hotel

Should we take the AF bus into Etoile/Arc de Triomphe and then a taxi to our hotel (about a 10 minute walk) OR a taxi all the way? Our flight gets in a 9pm on May 1.

Would appreciate recommendations.

You will receive many different responses.

Personally, after a long overnight flight I wouldn't consider anything except a taxi! I arrange for them to meet me at gate with my name on a sign.

Grace,

Could you tell us how to arrange such a taxi, which company you use and the approximate cost for an evening taxi?

Many thanks.

There are many ways to accomplish your objective, all spelled out along with pros and cons at tinyurl.com/mpjhn

One popular compromise between economy and luxury is to ride the train to Paris, then a taxi to your hotel. In your specific instance, the RER Châtelet station would be convenient. Changing train lines there is daunting to newcomers (eight lines converge), but in your case this is unnecessary. All you have to do is find the nearest SORTIE and go out to the street.

Here is one service that you could use..you have options..I would do the private....

If that does not work for you, there are others...

You don't do anything to arrange a taxi, other than going out into the public taxi queue like any other place. Taxis are public. You may have a few minute wait while they assign taxis to the people in front of you in the queue, or you may not. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes at CDG to get a taxi. You don't have to do anything to arrange a taxi at a public place like the Arc de Triomphe, either, or any place where they are in a queue at an official taxi stand (and there are several around that place, you won't have any trouble seeing them). There is a blue sign that says taxi at places that are taxi stop.

What grace is referring to is not a taxi, but a private van shuttle service.

Yes, I am referring to a private arrangement. I prefer them to meet me at gate with a sign, take my luggage and away we go..I'm tired upon arrival and don't want to fool around with anything!! It has always been well worth it..to me,that is..........
