Taxi in Rome from airport to city

What is cost of taxi from the airport (FCO) to downtown area of Rome?? Are there ATM's readily accessible at airport to get euros??

The fixed fare for an official Comune Roma taxi is 48€ (4 people including luggage). There are ATM's scattered around the airport. The one directly in front of the baggage claim exit (international arrivals) is always busy. If you turn right after exiting through the glass doors and walk down the hallway a bit there is another one that is rarely busy.

You can book a limo service for about the same cost as a taxi. This company charges a bit less than a taxi, but the rate is up to 3 people and then goes up.

I just used this service last week

http://www.romelimousines.com/

It was 36e for a shared limo, but I was the only person going to and from the airport.

I've used Rome Cab several times to and from the airport and they have never let me down. www.romecabs.com

With a a private car, they are waiting for you as you exit the arrivals area, IME, they take care of your luggage and all you have to do is follow behind them. They'll even stop at an ATM for you.

I've also used Rome Cabs on several trips to Rome, and like johnnyomalley, they have never let me down.

Yet another vote for Roma Cabs- reliable, decently priced, friendly. Last time they even walked us to a different terminal from our arrival so we could purchase our Rome museum passes. Highly recommend- nice to have this set up when you're arriving jet lagged.

We've used www.romeshuttlelimousines.com , which performs the same service as Rome Cabs, and is also very reliable and professional. The only difference is that they cost less.

A shared shuttle is always cheaper, but whenever I've taken one (not in Rome, though), I seem to be one of eight passengers, all of whom get dropped off before me.

We have just requested our hotel to arrange a driver to pick us up. has always worked well. Usually about 50 E. You arrive tired, If You are coming from N.A. It is a bonus to walk out of customs/immigration and see someone holding a card with your name on it.

A shared shuttle isn't always cheaper. Depends on how many is in your group.
