Taxi from Stansted
 

My son and his friend need a transfer from Stansted airport to a school in Saffron Walden which is 25km away. How much would a taxi cost for two persons with baggage?
(The school charges 60 pounds for the transfer. Is it acceptable?)

An alternative - you could drop him at Audley End station, which is only a couple of miles from SW, and he could get the Stansted Express.

It'll take only 10-15 mins from there and won't be too packed as it'll not be going on to London.

Sorry - that should be the reverse journey - he could get the Stansted Express to Audley End, then a taxi from there. It'll save a lot!

I recommend checking out some bus options which will definitely be cheaper!

Pedants corner: it isn't actually the stansted express that goes from Stansted aiport to Audley End - there is a train service but the timings are rather less frequent than the stansted Express.

Taxi price seems a bit toppy to me for the distance.
