Taxi from Lisbon airport to hotel?

Hi,
Three adults with 1 suitcase each will need a taxi at LIS to go to Hotel Marques de Pombal, Avenida Liberdade, 243.

We don't want to do Metro or shuttle because of physical problems.

Any idea how much a taxi will be? This will be next May on a Sat morning approx 10 am.
Thanks for you input.

I do not have an exact answer but it is my recollection that taxis in Lisbon are plentiful and relatively inexpensive. The airport is not far from the city.

As we pulled up to our hotel, in a taxi from the airport, one of the hotel staff looked quite displeased. Once we went inside he asked what we paid for the ride. He said the taxi had cheated us and unfortunately there are a lot of taxis that rip off tourists.

I refused to pay for the taxi from the airport when I was told it was 40 euros! I said I was going inside the hotel to ask what it should be and magically the fare dropped to 15 euros!!!!!!
Once inside, the hotel clerk apologized and said the taxis are so dishonest and it is so embarrassing for the hotel staff in Lisbon. Make sure the meter is set, watch it and then do what I did!

Here are all the ways to get there and approximate prices (taxi 8€-11€):

Thanks for the replies...are there "rogue" taxis to watch out for? Are there "licensed" taxis that are more honest?

The only taxis I've ever seen in Lisbon are the licensed ones. Uber has made it to Lisbon, I know, because I have friends there who use it a lot. Unfortunately, many of the taxis that line up at the airport are hoping for an unsuspecting tourist to rip off. A taxi drive to Marques de Pombal, as MmdPerdu said, should be no more than 11 euros, there are "taximetros" in every cab that record the fare. If you are going to take the taxi to the hotel, I would wait till the doorman opens the door and then ask him for help if the taxi driver is trying to get 20 or 30 euros out of you.

I typically stay at the Marriott for work. It's very close to the airport (in low traffic can be as cheap as as a 6 euro ride). So if I've got an unscrupulous driver, he is not going to like the Marriott destination. If it's an honest driver, I usually give a 10 euro tip to thank him for his honesty, but if he tries to cheat me, I let him have it in my very bad Portuguese and refuse to pay more than 8 or 9 euros.

We paid about 25 for going 10 min further at midnight.
No possibility to find a rogue taxi if you follow the signs and wait in line.
