taxi fares

I realize this is an ambiguous question, but here goes..we will be staying in Rome a few blocks from the Pantheon, and especially in the evenings, will probably take taxis more frequently than usual, and walk as much as possible as well. As a guess-timate, how much is an "average" taxi fare to the usual spots?

This does not answer your question, but I have read to make sure you take plenty of small bills with you, as sometimes the cabbies claim not to have enough change.

I found walking to be the most enjoyable in the evenings, especially from the area of the Pantheon to various sights.

I used taxis during the day with my mother and usually paid between 5 and 10 euro to most sights from that general area.

Be aware that you must go to a taxi stand to find a driver as taxis are not really supposed to stop on the street for passengers, although some still do.

You are so central! You might need a cab if you want to go to the collesium, but the rest of the time walk..much more fun and shoe leather is your only cost.
