Taxi fare

Hello everyone!

May I know if taking a taxi from CDG to the hotel at the Latin Quarter less expensive than taking the Metro for 4 people. We arrive about 12 noon in Paris. We are staying at the Hotel du Levant.

Thanks a million for the help and info.

Are these all adults or some children too?

I'm sure RER + metro is cheaper, but not by a huge margin, particularly if all 4 are adults.

Cedaz taxis company and their drivers are great thief's. at 17-3-05 their drive stole my hand bag and inside was my digital camera and video camera. I lost all memories of my honey moon, 3 hours of video and 200 photos!

I forgot to mention that the original question here was about Paris,
the theft report refers to Prague

no, a taxi isn't cheaper, the metro/RER is. The RER/metro fare will be around 8 euro each, so 32 euro vs. probably 45-50 for the cab.

There's an inexpensive shuttle company that you can take from the airport. You can book on the net or get with them at the airport. I wish I had my notes with me but sorry I'm not at home responding to this. Look in the tour books.

Hi p,

Check www.parishuttle.com and www.beeshuttle.com for shuttle service.

I was wondering if anyone out there had an opinion to the Metro/RER vs. a shuttle from Charles de Gaulle? My friend and I are going to Paris in May. It is cheaper to go by RER to our hotel than a private shuttle. It appears that the Metro might be a bit dicey with our luggage and carryons?

Just asking for opinions.

The RER is always cheaper, as Christina said: four can ride the rails for €7.85 x 4 = €31.40 whereas a taxi will cost €40 - €50.

Can you carry your luggage from the baggage claim to the street? If so, then the RER won't be a problem. If not, then you're probably better off with above-ground transport.

The Roissybus is €8.30 and the Air France bus is €9 (if you buy a r/t). PariShuttle.com which take you to your door, costs €19.

p.s. The exact cost of your airport trip depends on your overall public transport strategy. If you get a weekly pass, it can be as little as €7.40
