Taxi - Dublin Airport to St Stephen's Green

In scanning the web, I note that a taxi from the airport to st stephen's green can be a much as 50 euros. that does sound absurd for a 10 mile trip but i am curious to read what other people's experiences have been. i will be going to the fitzwilliam hotel and do not want to take a bus service that let me off too far from the hotel (struggling with luggage). i'm hoping the "50 euros" is a mistake - a typo. comments? advice?

You might check with the hotel as to their recommendations. I have always found hotels to be ery helpful as to who to use and how much to pay. I do not see that they have a shuttle but why not ask???

just checked a recommended car service - their service is 75 euros - maybe the 50 euro taxi is sounding more reasonable.

Back in '04, I took a taxi from Dublin Airport to a hotel just beyond St. Stephen's Green. Traffic was QUITE heavy that day and the trip took about 45 minutes. I gave the driver 45 Euro (which I THINK included a 10 Euro tip).

Traffic really IS the determining factor, though. When dealing with City Center destinations, TIME rather than MILES have a direct impact on fees.

There are different buses that service the airport and their stops may, or may NOT be covenient.

Choices:

Probably the simplest:

Fares are 8 euro per person for one-way and 14 euro for round trip.

"and do not want to take a bus service that let me off too far from the hotel "

Thought the N11 bus went by St Stephens Green - can't be more than a couple hundred metres walk
