Taxi cost to Siena from Florence
After looking into the trains to Siena, we are considering taking a taxi instead. Does anyone know if this might pose a problem and also what cost we would be looking at? We will be staying in the Tuscany area biking for the remainder of the trip with shuttle service back to Florence.

Thanks Tia

Why in heavens take a taxi when there are fast buses every hour?

Definately take the bus, cheap and fast. You can see the schedules and cost here...
http://www.sita-on-line.it/index2ing.htm

It's about an hour driving by car, with the possiblity of much longer if traffic is bad. God knows what bizarre surcharges your driver will come up with for the city-to-city trip. I think the one-word answer to your header question is "Expensive!!"

Go to the TRA-IN bus station, buy a ticket in the basement billeteria and take the bus. It's fast and simple. The bus station is a block away from the Florence train station and in the heart of Siena at the main plaza. It's simple and comfortable and they run frequently. M.

An estimated cost of the taxi ride from Siena to Florence: amore or less 150-200 euro. Is it worth to spend all this money?
