Taxi CDG to Hotel Residence Foch Cost?
 

After much debate over shuttle vs. taxi, we are taking taxi from CDG to our hotel.

We arrive 11:10am on a Monday and our hotel is the Residence Foch, 10 Rue Marbeau. There are 2 of us.

Time is of the essence as we must get to the hotel quickly to meet up with our other guests.

Can anyone approx. the taxi cost and any other tips on taxi service?

I do know traffic problems could slow us down and jack up the fare, but an hoping that time of day it won't be too bad.

Also, are ATMs available at CDG? Didn't want to buy Euros in U.S. before leaving as exchange rate is so high and would rather use ATM than changing dollars at an exchange booth if possible.

The cost will be 40 to 60 Euros, depending on extra baggage and traffic. Make sure you get taxi from the taxi stand, not from the guys hawking their services. Yes there are atm's in CDG. While it can be a bit overwhelming, just look for the signs towards the nearest atm, or ask one of your flight crew when exiting.

You can get there in the same time and for less than half the money by riding the Air France bus to Porte Maillot and walking the last block. 13€ one way or 20€ round trip.

Taxi will be more like 40+ euros plus tip as you are staying on the outskirts of Paris and in the direction of CDG. The advice on the Air France bus is good; but the walk would be more like 2 or 3 normal blocks from your hotel. Your hotel is decent but out of the way re anything interesting. We stayed there once and that was enough.

We considered AF shuttle, but lugging 2 carryon roller bags and one full size roller bag 2-3 blocks, plus having to perhaps stop a time or two before getting there, made the taxi option seem less hectic and quicker. Am I wrong?

I can't think of anything I'd rather do than stop at Paris cafés once or twice - but your point is well taken.
