Tattoo seating?

Where should we sit?
The only tickets left are under 15#.
Are choices are on the North or South sides only.
The more expensive left are at the West end, so I'll assume for the mean time, that these are the better ones.
Are the West seats to close to the castle?
Wouldn't the cheaper Easts have a better view with the castle as a backdrop?

So, our choices are:
NW / SW / NE / SE

James - you got answers to this and your other questions on your original thread . . . .

Thanks Janis,
but there isn't much there except your comment. I guess I should have explained my question further within that thread instead of a new I guess.
My options are slightly different now.
Do you have a suggestion regarding East vs. West.

Thx!

At this point just be happy to be able to get ANY seat.

I checked again and it seems there are plenty of North & South seats remaining for a week-day performance.
I would just like to hear someones opinion on the seating of West-end versus East-end.

Thx!

Sitting on the west end requires that you be in a kilt and able to march. That's where the bands emerge from the castle.

On the north and south stands, sitting more to the east than west is best. The east stand is great when they're marching toward you and you get the full blast of the music; unfortunately it then gets very echo-y as the march away from you toward the castle.

Go and enjoy the show, then buy the videotape for the best views.

East end definitely. That way you see the castle behind the performers. If you sit at the west end, you will see all the other grandstands.

THANK YOU Barbara and Gardyloo, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
Much appreciated.

Geez, the amount of spelling and grammatical errors I have made within this forum is outstanding. I guess I should stop listening to my French lesson CD while typing these out. I seem to be crossing over / intermingling languages, resulting in a poor execution. Either that, or I should really proof read before posting.

Anyway thanks everyone for your input and your tolerance for my inept typing.
