Tarifa, Spain?
Im curious to know what people think of Tarifa. Wondering if we should include it in our 12 day trip to spain over New Years. We are starting in Seville and finishing in Alicante. We heard from a friend that Tarifa was lovely, but it seems a bit out of the way so I want to know if it's worth it.
SIde note: we really don't like touristy spots. We will in the east village in NYC, and enjoy vacationing in places that are quieter and less congested. We are in our mid-30's.

Tarifa is one of those places, I think, that's nice enough to include as a stop if you're in the neighborhood but I don't think it's enough of a standout to go out of your way to visit. I was there for several days because I wanted a break in a longer visit in Morocco and it was easy to take the ferry across from Tangier. I didn't want a city so Tarifa seemed just right. And it was fine for the purpose but if you only have 12 days I'd look for a place with a bit more to offer. I remember the wind was relentless but may have been a seasonal thing.

I suppose you will visit Sevilla (3days), Cordoba (daytrip from Sevilla), Malaga (1 day), Granada (1 1/2 day), Murcia (1 day), Cartagena (1 day), Elche (1/2 day) and Alicante.
If you want to include other places, you may check
Jerez and Cadiz (from Sevilla)
Ronda (bus Sevilla - Ronda, then either bus to Malaga or train to Granada)

i think I've decided on the following:
Dec 27 - Jan 2 Seville (with Day trips to Cadiz, Jerez and/ore Ronda)
Jan 2nd - 3rd: a Farm house in Priego de Cordoba (visit cordoba on the way)
Jan 3rd - 5th: Granada
Jan 6th - Jan 10: Alicante (stay there with friends that own a hotel)
Sound like a good Sampling? I don't want to be on the road every day. We are people who like to sit still and settle into a place, so I book ended the trip with extended stays.
