Taormina hotels?

Need to stay two extra nights in Sicily due to inability to get flights on desired days. Anyone have a favorite hotel in Taormina or somewhere near Catania airport.
Thanks

My favorite in the mid-price range is Villa Belvedere. Old world rooms with modernized facilities, amazing views, pretty setting, excellent and friendly staff, and a bit of the feel of the original old villa.

Donna,

It depends on your price range. If money is no object, then I would stay at the San Domenico Palace. It is in a great location. They hotel is old world and very elegant. Beds are very comfortable with 25' high ceilings in the room. Beautiful views. I could go on and on.

If you want mid-price, then I have read many people on this Fodor's board rave about Villa Belvedere. I only walked by it. Villa Schular looked pretty nice from the outside and a nice location. I know that hotel is very inexpensive.

In downtown Catania, check out the new Hotel del Duomo on Via Etnea, a small boutique within 200 yards of the Cathedral, across the street from the University. Very good area of town. The Airport Bus stops very closeby.

My all time favorite hotel is Villa Ducale http://www.villaducale.com/eng/

I just adored it. Most bautiful, romantic, place I have ever been. I'm going back to it one day! :-)
