Tallin Riga and Vilnius - where to eat?

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for interesting places to eat in these three cities. I'm helping my dad with the last bits of information before he leaves on Thursday. He will be travelling with two of my brothers, so he is not looking necessarily for the highest end restaurants. Thanks so much for any info. I so wish I was going with them!

I was just in Tallin last week and found there to be a bunch of interesting-looking places to eat clustered around the central square as well as a couple of the radiating side streets.

We didn't eat in any of them because we were on a cruise (and not the least bit hungry!) but rest assured he won't have any problem finding fun places to eat.

Tallinn:
Aseri Restoran Shesh-Besh. Next door to Hotel G-9. Had lamb shish kebob and Argentinian dry red. Kr 195 = €12.50. Went back the next night for same.

Lunch at Hansa in Old Town. Good ambience. Good soup.

Breakfast at Stockman 5th floor. Marvelous buffet of herring, salmon, and plenty of other items. Sold by the gram. Kr55 for me.

Riga:
Lunch special at Dicken's pub, bar area. Two medallions of sirloin plus garnish and a lousy beer. Delicious. Ls4 = ~$7. I bought a regular beer and left the one which came with the special.

Dinner at Lido in Old Town. Alus Seta. Great selection on the buffet. Sold by the gram for each trip. Multiple tickets for each night. Great and cheap.

Riga:
Beef Stroganoff at Cili Kaimas was barely OK.

Forto Dvaras. My notes only say "good wholesome, tasty, and cheap, a good meal and a deal."

Vilnius:
Lunch at the hostel was herring and cheese which I bought at the market halls, and washed down with local vodka.

Dinner at Forto Dvaras. Had "Pike Village Style." Outstanding. One of the best fishes I ever ate. Cost local 12.90 plus a beer 3.90 plus my usual vodka 3.90 for starters. Lt was worth about 35 cents then, so the total came to about $7.25. Great deal.

Chilikamis for Lithuanian and Provence for French in Vilnius. My partner married a Lithuanian girl and they have just returned to the US from Vilnius.

Eili Kaimas, not Chilikamis. Misheard my partner.

Riga - Vincent's - www.vincents.lv - is great for fine dining. Not cheap though.

Alus Seta in the Old Town is good value - it's self-service and you pay by weight. Typically Latvian food I'm told.

The Double Coffee chain is great! They can be found in all three cities - some are open 24 hours and they do all kinds of food and drink - www.doublecoffee.lv

In Tallinn Hansa Old Town is fun - if touristy. The food isn't wonderful but there's a good atmosphere where they try to recreaate the medieval Estonian dining experience. It's just off the main square.

Also in Tallinn we liked the microbrewery Hell Hunt (Pikk 39) - it is excellent value for lunch or dinner and has a good range of beers including their own.
