Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to respond. We have decided to eliminate Vienna and I got an airfare quote from British Airways of $1,505.00 for New York - London - Berlin - Venice and then Rome - New York. It is expensive, but I think it might be the best I can do. What do you think?

I'm topping this for you because I'm not an expert on flight prices, but if you're saying $1505 is the price for flights between all of those places, and assuming you're going late May or early June since it's after graduation, that doesn't seem like a bad price for all those flights.

I bought our tickets today from British Airways. I eliminated Vienna and went with New York-London, London-Berlin, Berlin-Venice and Rome-New York. The ticket ended up costing $1,492 and I feel pretty good about it.
My new questions are: 1. Should I make advance reservations for train tickets from Venice to Florence and Florence to Rome? If so, how would I go about that? 2. Does anyone have a recommendation for a 2 star, air-conditioned hotel in Berlin or London? Once again, thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond. |

I think your airline ticket sounds reasonable for all the legs and during that season.
