Taking a Train from Berlin to Amsterdam

Hi,
I will be in Berlin in mid May and would like to take a train to Amsterdam to visit. Can someone let me know how long the train ride is and how much it cost for a roundtrip to and from Berlin and Amsterdam.

Hi uc,

Same response as on your question about train to Prague.

It takes about 5 1/2 hours; there is direct (no change) service three-four imes daily.

The Nederlands Spoorwegen site www.ns.nl lists several ICs a day which take 6 hours. The cost in 2nd class is €88.80 plus €3.00 for reservation. Multiply by 2 for round trip. You're looking at about $240.

I think you can get a low-cost flight on Transavia.com from Berlin to Rotterdam (then a shuttlebus to Amsterdam Central Station). It might not save you any time over all, but it may save money, although I haven't compared.

The Rotterdam airport shuttle to Amsterdam Centraal costs 21 euro roundtrip so Transavia will save you a lot as the flight itself costs only 60 euro roundtrip.
