Syros island - a relaxing photo slideshow for a glorious place in the Aegean!

I don't know if you have ever been to Syros island, (Greece) but I was there this summer and was fascinated!

Indeed, it's not as well known as Santorini or Crete, but due to its past it has some glorious buildings and landscapes, as well as a deep spiritual tradition of both Catholic and Orthodox Churches.

I have put up a brief 4-min relaxing photo slideshow to convey its character (you definately need sound!). You can download it for free (1st in row) by going at: http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html

Hope you enjoy it!

My Syros photo gallery is at http://www.larios.gr/gallery_177457.html.
I hope it conveys a bit of the majestic views of Syros!

Kind regards,
Yannis

Thanks for your kind comments! But as you can see Syros is indeed beautiful!

(Maggi, probably your firewall did not let it! I changed the file hoster and that may solve your issue)

iarios, when I click your link to the slide show, the opening photo for the Syros show appears, but not the button that says "Play". The "Play" button appears for your other slide programs, but not for Syros. Why is this? I cannot download it because I have a Mac not a windows-based PC. Please explain; thanks!

Hi travelerjan!

Thanks for the comment. Indeed, for the time being, the Syros island slideshow can be watched only by Windows users by downloading the file.

Within an hour or so, a flash online version will also be added for any OS, although at a lower quality and resolution.

In any case thanks for your interest and stay tuned!

Regards,

Yannis

Yannis, I have always loved your work and this is also wonderful. You are a true artist. I loved the opera house--what is that?

The photos of Syros Island are very well-taken and background music to your slide sounds apt. I enjoyed it very much. Certainly will put Syros Island in my to-do list when I have the chance to visit Greece in the future.

Thank you all for your kind comments!

@bobthenavigator - This is the Ermoupolis Theatre which is built as a "miniature" of the Scala di Milano.

Especially the ceiling is painted in a marvelous way.

As you have seen in the slideshow and the photos, "ceilings" are an art to be seen in Syros.

Best regards,
Yannis
