Symphony Orchestras in Budapest? Recommendations?
I will be in Budapest from 6-10 October. I'm having a difficult time finding a listing of orchestra performance during those 5 days. Do any of you have any recommendations or links?

Perhaps your travel dates out of "season" for symphonies. However, using the links on the Fodors site and plugging in your dates, there is an "Open Rehearsal" for the Budapest National Philharmonic Orchestra during your dates:

I don't think this is what you want but I've been looking a lot at tours in Europe and these two companies have some that specialise in music, so it may be of interest for you. I'm not trying to recommend them, I've never used them, but some of their other tours appealed to me for a trip some day.

Nabucco and Don Quixote are playing at the magnificent Opera House, recommended to dress appropriately as they take this stuff seriously there. Check corner of performance announcement for description (whether opera, ballet, concert). Prices are excellent for what you get.

The jegymester.hu site was very helpful. I did find an open rehearsal of members of the Hungarian Philharmonic on a Friday evening. Thank you for sending me to the site!
