Switzerland Itinerary sanity check?

Switzerland Itinerary sanity check?
After reading all over the web, I've decided to loosely do this:
Day 1: arrive from paris to geneva. 12:00pm either hang out in geneva or head to montreux. Evening head to grindewald -- hotel and rest.
Day 2: check weather, if it is good, go to jungfraujoch, if not, either do a little winter hiking in the area, or head to lauterbrunnen to look at waterfalls, explore around
If weather is absolutely horrid, maybe head to bern ?
Day 3: if already went to jungfrau on day 2, then will do the winter hiking to day. If not, try again on the weather. Boat ride??
Day 4. Head to zurich. If I really want to hang out more in the mountain, I will just head to zurich later at night. If not, I'll head early and explore zurich
Day 5: early flight home to US
I am debating whether or not to bring my snowboarding outfit, I don't have to snowboard , I go to Lake Tahoe all the time, I just don't want to miss out enjoying the scenery.

I hate Grindelwald.
Lauterbrunnen, Murren, or Wengen are much nicer.
Luzern is much nicer than Zurich.
I think Zurich is boring.
If you want to see what the weather is right now in Wengen you can look at the webcam for the website of the Minotel Bellvue.
This is where I always stay with Andi & Judi.

Luzern is much nicer than Zurich.
I think Zurich is boring.

I am not sure why you are going (possibly) to Montreux. It's a nice enough place but what's the point? Rail connection perhaps?
Obviously, some find Zurich "boring" although there is plenty to do there both on a cultural as well as an entertainment level (it's a bit more sophisticated than Luzern which is a beautiful city; I assume you are going to Zurich merely to fly out. I would do Luzern over Bern but that's personal.
I'd stay in the Jungfrau region as long as I possibly could. Swiss rail connections are notoriously dependable and if you could go to the airport the day of departure I would do so.

Zurich is for my flight home on day5, 7:30am flight.
I can go to lucern instead of bern, that's in case it's raining.
Should I skip montreux? I thought since I took the train from paris, may want to stop in montreux, then take the golden train to the BO area?
Should I just head to the mountain area? But even so, I would get there late afternoon...

If you want to go to the Jungfrau area, your plans are OK. Alternatives would be Chamonix (TGV from Paris up to St. Gervais, bus from Geneva)or Zermatt.
Berne is the much better choice than Lucerne for rainy weather (unless you are interested in 2 famous Lucerne museums: Swiss Transport Museum, Rosengart Collection http://www.rosengart.ch/welcome.php5 )
A boat ride doesn't make much sense if the weather is bad; until March 28th, there are almost no boats anyway.
BTW: why do you plan to take the TGV to Geneva if you want to go to Montreux? The direct TGV Paris dp 8.03 - Lausanne ar 11.37 (- Montreux ar 12.05) would be faster.

I'm taking train to geneva because I was freakn out when looking for trains to zurich (originally I thought I would just go to zurich and hang out coz my return flight is leaving from zurich, but the train ticket price was out of this world!!!!!). Ticket to geneva already set, I will either go directly to grindelwald or explore geneva a bit and head to grindewald.

There are 4 different direct TGV from Paris to Switzerland:
Paris - Geneva
Paris - Lausanne
Paris - Neuchatel - Berne
Paris - Basle - Zurich

I suppose you know that the Jungfrau railway is the only Swiss mountain railway which gives only 25 per cent discount to Swiss Pass holders: you will still have to pay 133 CHF / 140 USD. If you visit the Aletsch Glacier from the other side (Riederalp/Moosfluh), it costs only a few CHF. A train ride to the unique glacier panorama of Gornergrat (in front of the highest mountains of Switzerland) costs 41 CHF with the Swiss Pass.
