Switzerland in August 2002....
 

We will be Ascona in early August and we are looking for a nice bed and breakfast or small hotel to stay at for three days. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Romantik Hotel Castello a B&B? It is a great, romantic 4star hotel, but this will be out of the price range of a B&B. August is high season!<BR><BR>Ascona is generally an expensive place, sorry. Ingo is correct. The prices of the Castello del Sole are outrageous now.<BR>Personally, I like the Al Porto***. Very romantic, with a nice patio and centrally located.<BR>And Brian, be prepared to crowds in August. I would choose a more quiet place, really.

They're offering a special (minimum 3 days) which for July/August (depending on exact dates/days) is 148.00 CHF per person, including room, breakfast, dinner. Not cheap but certainly not as much as many of the B&B's in the US.<BR>BTW, unlike in Europe a B&B in the US is not cheaper than a hotel, so I guess it depends where Brian lives :)
