Just FYI, right NOW you could leave Vevey at 5:21 and arrive at the airport at 6:28; 5:41 and arrive at 6:59; 6:01 and arrive at 7:13

There will probably be some slight alterations in timings in June when rail schedules are updated

Yes, the trains are as about as reliable as you can get in Switzerland.

Yet it seems the rare say train delay in Switzerland - serious delay as IME Swiss trains are now routinely late a few minutes - the rare thing is bound to happen the one time you need to get somewhere. Could be an accident on the line, etc - yup rare but if i have a non-refundable ticket and have to be at an airport at 7am i would say at the airport or at least Geneva, from where a taxi if need be to the airport would be possible. Swiss trains rarely go on strike but in countries like France or Italy you'd be daft to rely on trains as strikes pop up all the time.

We are leaving to go to New York at 9 am. My understanding is to be at the airport 2 hours ahead for international. I guess if we get there a few minutes late it would not be a big deal. I am thinking of spending the last night in Geneva. I think I would be a bit nervous if there was a train problem. The good part is I will get to see another city in Switzerland. Question-what does IME stand for.

OMG (That's Oh My Gucci),

We will be in Switzerland at the same time. If you see me at Zurich Airport, you can say "hi," but don't dare touch my Brioni opera cape. (Yes, I am bringing it with me because it will be chilly at Schlithorn Piz Gloria.)

Thin - don't forget that the Schilthorn restaurant revolves - it's not the wine
