switzerland 6 nights itenary
hello, i would be visiting switzerland for 6 nights , 7 days (flying out of zurich)
i would like to avoid big cities like zurich, berne, geneva
I was thinking to stay in Interlaken area and in Lucerne
Questions 1) Out of the 6 nights, how many nights should i give to interlaken and how many to lucerne or should i just stay at one base place.
2) Should i stay at Lauterbrunnen or Interlakken or Grindelwald ?
Extra Questions to plan trip :
3) Should I do Zermatt or is it skipable ?
4) Heard a lot about Glacier Express ? Is it a must thing to do ? If yes, then how to plan things around it.

What time of year will you be there?
What are your interests? What specific sights do you want to see?
Answers can vary tremendously - if you are going in winter or summer - if you want to hike or relax or see castles or museums or ?????
And sorry - if you are there 6 nights you actually have 5 days - not 7 - you can;t count the day you arrive or depart as active days.

I would recommend one base in the Berner Oberland. Check out Meiringen, a small town with great proximity to many of the sites in the region. Plenty to see without packing and unpacking, checking in and checking out. Hotels or basic apartment rentals to keep costs reasonable. From there you can day trip to Brienz (Ballenberg Open Air Museum), Bern (not really a big city), Murren/Wengen,/Schilthorn, Jungfrau, Lucerne, Grindelwald. Zermatt is also worth seeing but with 5 days, you won't have time.
