Switzerland 1 wk Late September - Itinerary Help

HI! I'll be traveling to Switzerland the last week of September and have 7 days to travel around before catching a train to Paris... I'm looking for a little bit of help and any recommendations people may have. I fear we may be spreading ourselves too thin given we're capped at 1 week. We're flying into Geneva so all travel will start from there. I appreciate any/all responses!

- Day 1 - fly into Geneva - train to Vevey
- Day 2 - Vevey/Montreux
- Day 3 - early train to Gruyeres, spend day there. Afternoon train to Zermatt
- Day 4 - Zermatt/hiking
- Day 5 - Zermatt/Hiking
- Day 6 - train to Lucerne
- Day 7 - afternoon train from Lucerne/Zurich to Paris

Vevey/Montreux is a great start and so easy to reach from the Geneva airport. But too bad you only have 1 day. I have a long list of suggestions for those two towns, but you won't have time for them!

It looks like you have a nice sampler platter of western and central Switzerland for the time you have. I will be in the same area (Bulle/Montreux/Gruyeres) ar the same time.
IF you have any opportunity, Saturday, September 24 in the town of Charmey, is the Alpabfahrt, or cows coming down from high pasture festival.
I have been to other towns' Alpabfahrt, and they can be great fun, with flower-bedecked cows and goat, food booths with beer and crafts booths.
