Thanks for the link to (one of the many papers of) Alptransit. As former editor of the Message concerning the construction of the NEAT (Alpentransit-Beschluss) of the Swiss Federal Council from Mai 23rd 1990 (90.040), I know all these figures (and the endless changes of the building projects and the operational concepts and timetables) more or less by heart.
I suppose 82 min is a missprint and shoud be 92, otherwise the 2 hrs 40 min up to Milan wouldn't make any sense.

As I said - abwarten und Tee trinken, we'll see eventually just how many minutes it turns out to be. But there is no rush...

Meanwhile all the former scenic options are and will remain valid, so nobody loses out in this, but those who want to go faster will gain.
